The Reality of Food Insecurity in Canada

• 18% of Canadians experience some form of food insecurity.
• There’s been a 35% increase in food bank usage since 2019.
• 1 in 4 Canadians are eating less than they need because they can’t afford enough food.
• Nearly 2 million visits are made to food banks across Canada every month.

These statistics are staggering, but together we can make a difference.

How Mitsubishi is Helping

At Mitsubishi Motors, we’re committed to supporting our communities. This year marks the fourth consecutive year that Mitsubishi dealerships, like KW Mitsubishi, have partnered with Food Banks Canada and local food banks. Our Driving to End Hunger campaign aims to relieve food insecurity and make a positive impact where it’s needed most.

• In 2021 and 2022, we donated $150,000 each year.
• In 2023, that number grew to $225,000.
• In 2024, we expect to donate nearly $300,000 to support food banks across the country.
• 84 Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide are participating in this important cause.

How You Can Help

From now until October 17, KW Mitsubishi is collecting donations of food, non-perishables, and funds to support our local food banks. Every donation makes a difference in the fight against hunger.

Your contributions will help support food banks right here in our community, ensuring that your neighbours and families have access to the food they need. Plus, your donations will be part of a nationwide effort, with Mitsubishi Motors Sales of Canada making a direct donation of $100,000 to Food Banks Canada to support food insecurity programs, including those in remote areas.
